Course Overview

A clean firearm is a reliable firearm. Whether you just bought your first pistol or you've been putting off learning how to properly maintain your AR-15, this class will give you the hands-on knowledge and confidence to take care of your weapon the right way.

We offer two focused cleaning courses — one for pistols and one for AR-15 rifles. Both are taught in a relaxed, one-on-one environment where you'll work on your own firearm under expert guidance. No shortcuts, no guesswork — just the correct techniques that keep your gun running safely and reliably for years to come.

Pistol Cleaning Class

This class is designed for men and women who are new to firearms and want to learn the proper way to clean and maintain their pistol. You'll work through the full process from start to finish on your own handgun:

• Safety & unloading — Verify safe condition and proper unloading procedures before any work begins
• Field stripping — Learn how to take down your specific pistol model for cleaning
• Detailed cleaning — Clean every part of your firearm thoroughly using proper tools and solvents
• Lubrication — Apply the right amount of lubricant to the right places — too much is just as bad as too little
• Reassembly — Put it all back together correctly and perform a function check
• Carry & storage prep — How to properly reload for carry, or prepare your pistol for safe long-term storage

All cleaning supplies and tools are provided. Just bring your unloaded pistol. $35 per person, approximately 1 hour.

AR-15 Cleaning Class

Go beyond a basic wipe-down. This class covers a total breakdown of your AR-15 — you'll learn every component, how it works, and how to clean and maintain it properly so your rifle performs when it matters.

For the AR-15 class, please bring the following:

• Your own cleaning kit with rod (or purchase one at our store)
• Non-chlorinated brake cleaner (available at any auto parts store)
• Rags and an old towel

$40 per person (prepaid), approximately 1 hour.

Why Proper Cleaning Matters

Neglected firearms are unreliable firearms. Carbon buildup, copper fouling, and dried-out lubrication cause malfunctions — jams, failure to feed, failure to eject — exactly the kind of problems you can't afford in a self-defense situation. Regular, proper cleaning extends the life of your firearm, maintains accuracy, and ensures it functions when you need it most.
