Long Gun Range Class
Long Gun Shooting
at the Range
Rifle and Shotgun Range Instruction — Bench Rest, Standing, and More
Course Overview
Rifles and shotguns require a different skill set than handguns, and this class is built to teach you those skills from the ground up. Whether you have never fired a long gun before or you are looking to sharpen your accuracy and technique, our instructors will work with you one-on-one to meet you where you are.
We cover rifles and shotguns of all types — bolt action, semi-automatic, AR-platform, pump action, and more. You can learn to shoot from the bench for precision work or standing for practical application. We will match the instruction to your goals: recreational shooting, hunting preparation, home defense, or long-range marksmanship.
What You Will Learn
- Long gun safety — Muzzle control, safe carry positions, and range protocols specific to rifles and shotguns
- Proper shooting positions — Bench rest for precision, standing, kneeling, and prone positions depending on your goals
- Stance and body mechanics — How to manage recoil, mount the gun properly, and build a stable shooting platform
- Sight and optic fundamentals — Iron sights, red dots, and magnified optics — how to use what is on your gun
- Trigger control and follow-through — Clean trigger press and recoil management for accurate, repeatable shots
- Loading, unloading, and malfunction clearing — Confident manipulation of your specific firearm platform
Who Is This Class For?
This class is for anyone who wants to learn to shoot a rifle or shotgun effectively. First-time long gun owners, hunters who want to be more confident in the field, AR-15 owners who want proper instruction, or anyone who just wants to have some fun at the range — we have got you covered.
If you are cross-dominant (for example, left-handed but right-eye dominant), do not let that stop you. Our instructors have personal experience working through these challenges and can help you adapt quickly.
